Where rate promises stall
The raise your best affiliates are still waiting for
The rate bump you promised lives in a spreadsheet
One rate per campaign, so the promised increase is a manual check of each affiliate’s count against the threshold
The affiliate who crossed the line in March finds out in May, if anyone remembers to look
With performance tiers the check runs on every sale and the move happens when the count reaches the number you set
A new campaign means new links and confused affiliates
The rate goes up in a new campaign and the first reply from the affiliate is “does my old link still work”
The affiliate goes hunting for every blog post and video description the old link sits in
On level up the link and ID carry over unchanged and the new campaign’s welcome email tells them what changed
Existing referrals are the awkward part of every rate change
Every rate change raises the same question about the customers already referred: old terms or new
Answer it per affiliate and payout day runs on side agreements nobody wrote down
Set the policy once per campaign: leave earlier referrals at their rate or move all of them with the affiliate

Set the bar once and let the sale do the rest
One setting per campaign
Create a campaign per tier
Set up one campaign for each level, such as Silver at 25% and Gold at 30%. Each has its own reward setup, signup page, dashboard and email set.
Set the threshold
In the lower campaign, choose the destination campaign, pick the metric (customers, active customers or revenue) and enter the number that triggers the move.
The sale triggers the move
When a referral’s sale brings the affiliate to the threshold, a background job moves them to the higher campaign right away. You approve nothing.
Both sides see the new rate
The affiliate lands in the new campaign with the same link and ID and receives its welcome email. Commissions on new referrals record at the higher rate.
14-day free trial. No credit card required.
The settings behind each tier move
Every campaign holds its own level-up settings, so you decide how each move up behaves.
Grandfather earlier referrals or move them
“Move existing referrals on level change” is off by default, so customers referred at 25% keep paying 25% and only new referrals earn the higher rate. Turn it on and the affiliate’s earlier referrals switch to the new campaign’s terms for every commission from that point on.
Chain three tiers or more
Bronze to Silver to Gold is three campaigns, each pointing at the next. An affiliate who qualifies for two rungs in one pass moves through both and each tier keeps its own reward structure along the way.
Make the top tier invite-only
Mark the highest campaign as private and it disappears from public signup. The only ways in are reaching the threshold below it or a manual move by an admin, which keeps the best rate reserved for affiliates who earned it.

What counts
Three metrics and a manual override
Count every customer they ever referred
The count covers every customer the affiliate has referred over the life of their account, so a slow month never sets them back. FirstPromoter’s own program uses this metric and moves affiliates from 25% to 30% at their tenth customer.
Tie the tier only to paying customers
Only currently paying customers count and a cancellation that pulls the total under the threshold moves the affiliate back to the previous campaign. The higher rate holds for as long as the customer base behind it does.
Count referred revenue, net of refunds
The threshold compares against the affiliate’s lifetime referred revenue net of refunds, so a refunded charge never counts toward the next tier. Use it where one enterprise deal is worth more than twenty starter plans.
Move one affiliate or a whole batch by hand
Select affiliates from the list, choose the destination campaign and decide how their recurring commissions are handled, with an optional drip email on arrival. Use it for the moves a threshold does not cover.
14-day free trial. No credit card required.
