Why neuroflash chose FirstPromoter
The right fit from the start
neuroflash was looking for an affiliate program a couple of years ago and FirstPromoter looked like a good fit, so they decided to give it a try.
Today, new affiliates are onboarded automatically and the team’s ongoing work is light: reviewing new applications about once a week, checking performance data monthly and emailing affiliates when they run campaigns or ship product releases.
Results
neuroflash’s results with FirstPromoter
neuroflash’s top-performing affiliates earn a steady, high income each month and around 15% of their customers now come from an affiliate. Engagement is especially high during campaigns they run together with affiliates.
neuroflash also runs an “invite your friends” referral program through FirstPromoter, which helps them acquire new users for their app by turning current users into partners, not just relying on affiliates alone.
Key Tips
Advice for businesses starting an affiliate program
-
Invest in setup early
Investing time in a solid setup pays off forever: build different campaigns for different countries, create emails and assets and design the affiliate login page and portal.
-
Keep affiliates in the loop
Send frequent emails with product and campaign updates to affiliates.
-
Lean on support
Ask FirstPromoter’s customer support when you have questions. It’s one of the best support teams they’ve worked with.
-
Look beyond affiliates
FirstPromoter can do much more than a standard affiliate program, like their own “invite friends” referral program – it’s worth exploring what else fits your team.
Insights
More insights from neuroflash
-
How do you recruit affiliates?
Two programs: an affiliate program showcased on their website, where they review new sign-ups once or twice a week and manually decide who to accept based on a short questionnaire about audience size and experience; and an in-app referral program for free users, who get 10,000 free words (instead of the usual 1,000) when a friend they invite creates an account. Both recruit largely on their own, without paid advertising.
-
Do you use any specific tactics to onboard and activate affiliates?
A 3-email onboarding sequence: how to use FirstPromoter and find sign-ups and commissions, all assets plus an onboarding document and an offer to hop on a call to figure out what makes sense for them to promote.
-
What are the most important metrics you are following?
The number of new paying customers affiliates bring in each month and the net revenue amount.
-
Which features have been the most helpful for your affiliate program?
Asking screening questions at sign-up, well-sorted reports (especially since v2), running both referral and affiliate programs side by side and being able to impersonate an affiliate to check things out quickly. Customer support has also made a real difference: quick, available and helpful across marketing, product and accounting.
-
Did you try other affiliate management platforms? If so, why weren’t they right for you?
They used Adcell, but found it outdated and not intuitive enough to help them earn money or recruit the right affiliates.
